 Counselling and Educational Therapy with Adults and Children - City of London, Islington, Muswell Hill.Welcome
My name is Nina Grant and I am a counsellor and educational psychotherapist. I work with both adults and children, exploring the issues that might be getting in the way of living and learning. I provide a safe and supportive space for thoughts and feelings to unfold and be explored. It is within the realms of this therapeutic relationship that insights and healing can begin.
My approach is an integrative one that incorporates elements from the psychodynamic and humanistic traditions. I am excited by the unkown, the potential for living more creatively, the awareness of patterns, and the ever changing energies that can inform and help our choices in life.
I work with adults and children on a timescale that can be relatively short or longer term if difficulties are more entrenched. This maybe in response to life circumstances around:-
* changes and transitions
* separations
* illness or accidents
* bereavement
* traumatic events
My work with children will focus closely on the learning process and the possible underlying emotional factors that might be getting in the way, which can make the school and learning experience problematic. I support the emotional needs of the child by creating a safe place so that a relationship and trust can develop. I look at the possible meaning of the behaviour and think about what is being communicated.
I practice educational therapy in Islington, The Caspari Foundation, an educational charity, and Muswell Hill in North London, and counselling at the Gestalt Centre in the City of London / EC2. |
